What is UV De-bonding Tape?

UV De-bonding Tape is a specialty protective adhesive tape constructed with a PO (Polyolefin) or PET film substrate, coated with a UV-curable acrylic adhesive formulated for adhesion reduction.

It is primarily used for protection during acid, alkali, and high-temperature processes in electronics manufacturing. Its key feature is low-peel-strength separation after UV exposure, which prevents damage to the adhered substrate and ensures no adhesive residue remains.

Key Characteristics:

  1. Strong Initial Adhesion (Pre-UV):

Before UV irradiation, the tape exhibits high initial tack. This ensures the product remains securely fixed during demanding fabrication processes such as grinding, dicing, and assembly.

  2. Clean De-bonding (Post-UV):

After exposure to UV light, the adhesive properties change dramatically. The tack is significantly reduced, allowing the tape to be peeled off easily and cleanly without damaging the product surface or leaving any glue residue.

  3. Excellent Processability:

The tape offers good elongation (stretchability), ensuring intimate contact and superior bonding with the target product. It is also high-temperature resistant, meeting the thermal requirements of semiconductor manufacturing processes.
